The committee of the CBC has resolved to sponsor an annual internship programme with the purpose of assisting with the acquisition of skills through exposure to senior business forums.

Internships will be offered to 2 member applicants on a contested basis, with applications closing on the 31st May each year. The Club committee will review and interview applicants with decisions being announced by 31st July, and internships commencing in September.

The purpose of the internships offered to members is to enable them to improve their business or occupational performance through hands-on experience with senior business people. Interns will be invited to sit, as observers for a period of 12 months, on appropriate business forums which may include commercial and not-for-profit boards, senior executive team monthly meetings, or functional specialist meetings (sales & marketing, finance, planning, operations, technology etc.

It is intended that the Club will meet any modest incidental costs associated with internships including travel and resources. Contributions in that regard will be limited to $500 per intern. The recipients of the internships will be determined by the CBC committee on the recommendation of a sub-committee established for that purpose.

Notice of invitation to apply for internships will be notified to all members of CBC annually. Applications will be accepted from CBC members or members of their direct family, and from non-members however, there is an expectation that successful non-member applicants would apply to join the Club prior to commencing their internship. Applications are not age restricted. Applications must be made in writing to the secretary of CBC when applications are called for.
