Life Members 

The Christchurch Business Club has instituted a life membership category for the Business Club. 

This honour is awarded to members whom the Christchurch Business Club Executive deems to meet a set of criteria demonstrating their long-standing commitment to the club, as well as its continued stability and growth.

Ian Harrison

Ian joined the Christchurch Business Club in 2003. While he has never held a flag officer position, Ian has become the club’s elder statesman and a trusted voice of reason, often guiding the committee in understanding the sentiments and direction of the membership.

For many years, Ian has played a pivotal role in organizing key club activities, including coordinating members for roles such as prosecutors, fine collectors, and delivering votes of thanks to guest speakers. His dedication and contributions have been invaluable to the club’s success.

Michelle MacWilliam

Michelle joined the Christchurch Business Club in 2015, becoming its third female member and the first woman to serve on the executive committee. Shortly thereafter, in 2018, she assumed the role of club secretary.

Over her nine years in this position, Michelle has been a steadfast supporter of the club’s presidents, guiding them through unprecedented challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on membership, and shifting perceptions of modern business clubs and networking.

Michelle has become a cornerstone of the club, known for her extensive knowledge, strong connections with members, and attention to detail whilst juggling many balls. Her dedication and contributions have been instrumental in the club’s continued success in a challenging landscape.

Warren Head

Warren joined the Club in 2009 and is a past president of the Christchurch Business Club, as well as a former secretary. He is also the longest continuously serving committee member, bringing invaluable knowledge and historical insight to the executive committee.

Since 2019, Warren has taken on the vital role of sourcing speakers for our Monday meetings. Over the years, he has arranged approximately 140 high-caliber guest speakers, meeting the club’s rigorous standards. With the club hosting an average of 20 meetings annually, Warren’s dedication has been instrumental in ensuring engaging and impactful sessions for our members.
